Our philosophy in being stewards of your capital is based on three main pillars: Disciplined, Intentional, and Ownership. We begin our investment process by seeking companies that fulfill our Maclura Foundational Factors. This list of premium companies is refined through our valuation process and used to construct your unique portfolio to meet your individual needs.
Disciplined
We implement a disciplined growth investment strategy focused on seeking premium companies that are strong within our proprietary foundational factors. Companies that hold these characteristics are well-positioned to weather economic uncertainty and be a positive contributor in helping investors reach their wealth goals. We let our disciplined approach guide our investment opportunity, not the benchmark or market capitalization requirements. We don’t speculate on short-term events; we invest for the long-term.
Intentional
We believe that most investors are over diversified by owning multiple investment products, such as mutual funds or ETFs. The investment decision of those products is driven by the constraints on the fund and often the compared benchmark. If an investor owned multiple funds, it would not be uncommon for their individual securities to number in the hundreds. At Maclura, we believe each holding within our client’s portfolio is intentional towards helping achieve their investment goals. Our growth universe is divided into categories that help manage the risk profile for each client’s portfolio.
Ownership
Most of the investment products available to individuals are mass managed and structured for the benefit of the investment professional for scalability of their business, not necessarily for optimal wealth building or preservation for their clients. Upon starting Maclura, we wanted to deliver our investment product in a way that was optimal for our client’s needs. At Maclura, we believe that direct investing maximizes the benefits to the individual. By owning each stock directly in your portfolio, individuals have multiple advantages over pooled investments by maximizing the benefit of long-term dividend growth, tax efficiencies, and custom portfolio construction that is elusive in other investment products.

We take a disciplined approach to investing when building a universe of premier growth companies that we use to implement a customized solution in building our clients’ portfolios. Whether you are trying to build or preserve wealth, or a combination of both, growth investing can help you accomplish your goals. We start our process by putting all of our investment considerations through the bedrock of our investment methodology: the Maclura Foundational Factors (MFF). Process
Once we have a premier list of companies that have screened favorably with the Maclura Foundational Factors, we then fine-tune this list of good companies into good stocks. With the volatility in the stock market, a company always trades higher or lower than its intrinsic value at any point in time. Since we tend to be long-term investors, we bracket the value of a stock for the next five years within two scenarios: best-case and worst-case valuations. The best-case scenario incorporates expectations of how the company will perform fundamentally in a generally strong GDP economy, and the worst-case scenario incorporates a typical recession. We use various valuation methods and conclude the best allocation of client’s capital, whether it is the initial portfolio construction or investing deposited cash, either from the client’s contributions or dividends.
